The Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog) is a small, friendly railway where the train ride is just part of the experience. The vintage train also stops at the sheds, where you can get off for a free guided, hands on tour. Climb on the engines and see how things work. And when we get to the other end - Pen-y-Mount, why not get off and watch them change the signals and points?

Pen-y-Mount station

Pen-y-Mount station is the other end of the line. Why not join the train here at the replica 1923 WHR building and station, re-created exactly as it was? Or leave the train here and explore the network of footpaths running through the surrounding countryside. Watch how they operate the signals and points.
